Zalando Online Marketing Camp

Zalando is inviting 100 Digital Marketers to the third Zalando Online Marketing Camp in Berlin. Join 50 Online Marketing experts from Zalando in exchanging ideas with diverse participants in an interactive dialogue enhanced by a relaxed atmosphere – don’t expect keynotes, agendas, frontal presentations or a participation fee. Besides the characteristic broad range of topics this camp’s focus lies on Performance Marketing- innovative marketing channels and growth hacks.

Online Marketing Camp: What to expect?

The "Zalando Online Marketing Camp" is an unconference. It’s a theme-camp where schedule and content are defined exclusively by the participants on the day of the event itself. There are neither given topics, nor is there a differentiation between speakers and audience. Participants either host a session themselves or actively take part in them. The idea for the day is: “No spectators, just participants”. This kind of concept is totally different from typical business events (and therefore more fun).

Each participant is encouraged to suggest a topic beforehand- but you don’t necessarily need to be the host for it on the day itself. We are collecting topics during the session pitch – it doesn’t matter if it was prepared beforehand or if someone spontaneously decides to discuss an issue that he/she currently is working on. The camp’s focus is on innovative marketing channels and growth hacks. However, every topic that has an online marketing background is welcome.

The participants show their interest in the respective sessions by hand signal and that’s the way we decide what sessions will be taking place. There will be as many sessions at the same time as there is room capacity – as easy as that!

What else is good to know? We’re not interested in hierarchies. Exchange is on first name basis, open and honest – at eye-level. This is the Zalando culture and the spirit of the event. Therefore, we have the introduction round to help break the ice when we start the day together. All participants introduce themselves with three hashtags including their name, where they come from and what they are interested in. English will be the main language. For all those who don’t feel comfortable to host or discuss in English on a level that goes beyond casual small talk, there will be one room specifically hosting sessions held in German.

Are you interested in joining the Zalando Online Marketing Camp?

We would be very happy to have you! The only prerequisite is to bring an online marketing background and hand in a possible session topic with short description (max. 300 words). You don’t necessarily need to host the session on the day itself. You should be happy to share ideas and be open to taking part in discussions. It’s an intensive event that lives from presentations, discussions and interactions where speaking time is the same for everyone. Get your ticket here.

Topics

The focus of the camp is on Performance Marketing: innovative marketing channels and growth hacks. Areas to be explored include Search Engine Marketing (SEO & SEA), Affiliate Marketing, Social Media Advertising, Customer Engagement, CRM, Marketing Intelligence, Couponing, Online Videos, Content Marketing, Performance Advertising and everything else tackling the world of digital communications.

In the end it’s you and the other participants who decide on site, on the day of the event, which topics will be covered.

We look forward to an innovative and exciting meet-up, an exchange of experiences and some interdisciplinary networking!

Agenda

Doors open at 9.00 am on 10th of November 2016. We will start the day with coffee and breakfast. The camp officially kicks off at 9.30 am in the networking and lounge area. After the introduction round there will be the pitch for the sessions of the day which will be done by the participants exclusively.

Everything will be documented live! Same for the agenda. After having agreed on the sessions we will take a pic of the fixed agenda and send it to all participants. That way we ensure that everyone has access to the schedule and can take part in every session he/she is interested in.

Sessions will start at 11 am and go on until 6 pm, with time for a lunch break from 1 to 2 pm. After the sessions and the feedback session, it’s time for networking and drinks.

Please note that the main language of the day will be English. For those who don’t feel comfortable to host or discuss in English on a level that goes beyond casual small talk, there will be one room specifically hosting sessions held in German.
